Yesterday we posted a story on the arrival of the German Navy Frigate Bayern in Fremantle.
Local folk have been asking about the Covid status of the vessel and crew upon arrival in Fremantle.
The assumption that there are specific rules governing foreign warships is well founded.
Today, the WA Department of Health has advised as follows –
The FGS Bayern is in the process of meeting requirements in accordance with Schedule 2 of the Maritime Crew Member Directions (No2) to transition from exposed to unexposed vessel status.
Once the FGS Bayern has met all requirements of this transition process, the crew will not be subject to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
The Bayern will be in Fremantle until 5 October.
