The Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation has today extended a big thank you to the people of Western Australia and from around the world for their messages of support since the STS Leeuwin II was damaged in Fremantle Harbour on 30 August, as we then reported.
The Foundation is now preparing to begin the process of removing damaged masts, sails and rigging.
Here are some of the first photographs taken aboard Leeuwin, that the Foundation has shared with us, that show close up for the first time the damage to the Leeuwin.
If you’d like support the Leeuwin by donating to The Phoenix Fund and by signing up for news and updates on the Leeuwin’s progress, here’s where to do it.
In late mail, we understand the damaged masts, sails and rigging will be removed from the Leeuwin this Monday and stored nearby by Freo Ports pending next steps in the repair program.
