Fine Photography – Seng Mah

It’s Friday again and time to present the work of another Freo-linked photographer of note – Seng Mah.

His photographs and our audio interview – podcast, really – with Seng follow. Enjoy!

Seng is a professional photography educator, travel and documentary photographer and photography tour leader.

For nearly 10 years, he ran a photography studio upstairs on the High Street Mall, from which he ran his photography courses and photo shoots.

Seng is an avid traveller and has been running photography tours for five years – to places as diverse as India, New Zealand, Madagascar, Arnhem Land (Northern Territory), Kenya, Italy, Morocco and… Tasmania. He enjoys travel, documentary, portrait and landscape photography the most.

He was part of the FotoFreo International Festival of Photography from 2008 – 2012 as coordinator of the FotoFreo Fringe and in organising photography workshops during the Festivals. He also exhibited as part of FotoFreo Fringe in three Festivals, and was a committee member of the Fremantle International Portrait Prize. Seng is an active photography judge and is an accredited member of the Australia Institute of Professional Photography. He has also been exhibited in WA, Australia and internationally, and has curated and coordinated photography exhibitions in Perth and Fremantle.

His website is www.venturephotography.com.au

He has also been awarded the odd gong – like, many – including

– Professional Documentary Photographer of the Year 2018 (WA Professional Photography Awards)
– Professional Travel Photographer of the Year Finalist 2017, 2018, 2019 (WA Professional Photography Awards)

Needless to say, he’s had numerous exhibitions of his work, which you will see mentioned on his website.
