JDAP listens to concerns of residents and experts that the precedent effect of approving a nice looking, four level apartment proposal, nearby Sealanes and Running with Thieves and just over the road from South Beach, South Freo, was too great. In other words, if you approve this you effectively rezone, in one stroke, the whole of Marine Terrace to a similar bulk and height.
JDAP – the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel – today unanimously refused the 242 Marine Terrace proposal.
It seems most if not all members of the JDAP were impressed by the architecture of the building, but considered its approval at this time in this location was ‘premature’.
