Don’t miss our fast-paced podcast interview with journalist Mark Naglazas, fast becoming a famous Facebook Influencer, that you’ll find at the very end of this post.
Mark Naglazas, once a well-known Film and Arts critic with The West Australian and more recently a regular contributor to Fremantle Shipping News, has recently reinvented himself as something of a Facebook thinker, an Influencer even. His Facebook page covers many and varied topics – from Albo and Bibi, to Adelaide Writers Week, to Tree Canopies, you name it – and has been attracting thousands of followers and comments – in one case, nearly a million.

Having picked up on all the chatter, our Editor, Michael Barker, invited Mark Naglazas to call by the Shipping News’ podcast studio this week to explain his new career as a Facebook Influencer, just how all this has happened, as well as what he has learned in the process about the state of modern media.
