Interview with Eileen Mahony – Darling, Darling

Don’t miss our great podcast interview with Eileen Mahony at the very end of this post!

Eileen Mahony has spent a good amount of time in Australia over the years, especially in Fremantle in more recent times. So much that we think this Londoner qualifies as an honorary Fremantle Person.

Amongst other things Eileen has been doing since she retired from working as a teacher a few years back, is writing and performing one-woman fringe shows, not only at the famed Edinburgh Fringe but also here in Freo.

Her shows have included Loft Clearance and Loft Luggage, which she has previously performed at Fremantle Park Club on Ellen Street. On 6 February, at the same venue, Eileen will perform her latest show, Darling, Darling, that you can book for right here.

Our Editor, Michael Barker was pleased to catch up with Eileen Mahony to make the podcast you’ll find below where we discuss how Eileen got into the performing caper, her discovery and love of Freo, and a little of what to expect when you see Darling, Darling. In the course of all that, Eileen disclosed she is what the Brits call a ‘Winterer’, namely, a Brit who escapes the depths of a British winter by scarping to sunny, fab places like Freo!
