SailGP is coming – South Mole To Close for 2 Months from 1 December

The Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG will kick start the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship, a global calendar of events featuring national teams battling it out in identical high-tech, foiling catamarans and racing at speeds exceeding 100kmph.

These things fly!

To accommodate the crowds, grandstands will be built around Bathers Beach, South Mole and Fishing Boat Harbour. As a result, South Mole will be temporarily closed to the public from 1 December 2025 and is planned to reopen on
30 January 2026.


KEY DATES

Monday 1 December 2025: Closure of South Mole and commencement of SailGP infrastructure build
Friday 16 January 2026: Official practice racing
Saturday 17 January 2026: Race day 1
Sunday 18 January 2026: Race day 2
Friday 30 January 2026: Reopening of South Mole to public

Fremantle Ports, the City of Fremantle, SailGP organisers and Tourism WA are finalising plans for the event, which will be centred around Bathers Beach and the surrounding breakwaters.
