The online newspaper WA Today ran a great story yesterday.
Their journalists analysed federal Department of Transport data to see what cars are popular around the State and postcode by postcode.
You feed in your postcode and soon find out what the top 10 cars registered to your postcode are.
Seems around Fremantle generally speaking the Toyota Hilux is right up there.
In Freo proper, 6160, the list looks like this.
Toyotas everywhere. Hilux number 2. Not a Tesla in sight.
Here’s South Fremantle, Beacy and the Valley.
Still not a Tesla in sight. Hilux number 1.
Here’s North Fremantle.
Still no mention of a Tesla! The Hilux reigns supreme!
Perhaps East Fremantle will save the EV day. Here’s East Freo.
Nup. Not surprisingly though, East Freo folk have more upmarket Toyotas at the top of their list than a mere Hilux. The Hilux is relegated down the list in East Freo. Probably hidden away in the secondary rear garden garage for fear of embarrassment.
Must say, though, we at the Shipping News are starting to doubt the data. Does it pass the pub test? Do you really so many Hiluxes around Freo?
Starting to wonder whether there’s a Toyota Hilux holding yard somewhere near Freo?!
