The elegant cruise ship, the second to arrive here in as many weeks, is at the end of a 21 day one-way cruise from Auckland, having departed Auckland on 15 August.

On her way to Freo Coral Princess has made port calls at Sydney, Brisbane, Willis Is, Cairns, Darwin, Kimberley Coast, Broome and Geraldton.

The passengers were no doubt looking forward to arriving here this morning in bright sunshine. Instead they arrived in lashing rain, thunder and lightning, with winds estimated at around 37 kph, gusting to 48.

Our Shipping Correspondent, Jean Hudson, bravely caught the Princess’ arrival from North Mole. By the look of it, it could have been North Pole!

As Jean commented, ‘I imagine the passengers will be relieved to be back on dry land.’

No doubt everyone in Freo Ports, the pilots and the tug crew involved in the Princess’ arrival this morning were pleased to see the big cruise ship tie up safely at the Fremantle Passenger Terminal.
