The QUEEN arrives!

By our Shipping Correspondent Jean Hudson* @jeansodyssey

The QE – the Queen Elizabeth – the famed Cunard cruise ship, arrived this morning in Freo Port under the cover of darkness.

She sailed by Port Beach and, as the colors of dawn lit the sky, she slipped between the moles and into Port.

What a sight!

Then she tied up at Victoria Quay alongside our treasured Fremantle Passenger Terminal.

Many of the QE’s passengers will now be spending the day discovering the delights of Freo and environs, including no doubt the SHOTS PHOTO EXHIBITION at Moore & Moore Gallery in Henry Street, Fremantle – open today from 9am. The exhibition displays a wide variety of subjects and all are taken by local West Australian photographers.

Here’s the QE finding her way to Port this morning.

If you’d like to read our story on where QE has come from before arriving this morning, and all about her facts and stats, here it is!
