Silver Whisper will make a transit visit to Fremantle tomorrow, Saturday, 2 December. She will arrive at 07:30 am and leave again on the same day at 11 pm.
Silver Whisper is a luxury small cruise ship that entered service in 2001 and is operated by Silversea Cruise Line.
She was built by Mariotti Shipyard in Genoa, Italy, is 190m long with a beam of 81.8m and sails under the flag of the Bahamas.
She is currently on a 24-day-cruise that originated in Singapore and will end in Sydney.
Her 392 passengers are mostly North American and Australian couples, and 302 crew.
There is also a high space-to-passenger ratio. The ship’s gross tonnage divided by the passenger capacity results in more space per passenger than any other cruise ship.
The passenger-to-crew ratio is also high, at 1.31 to 1.
Silver Whisper sports a relaxing, sophisticated, and genuinely elegant atmosphere. A multi-million-dollar refit in 2018 makes her one of the most technically up-to-date ships at sea.
Passengers revel is pampering spa treatments, and dynamic full-scale theatre productions.
And they can fine-dine in any of the four top class restaurants.
Words like elegant, classic, pricey, and comfortable come to mind.
Passengers tend to dress up more than on other cruise ships – with plenty of tuxedos on formal nights. This is not a cruise where you arrive with a suitcase full of T-shirts, jeans and shorts, no matter who the designer!
A Sydney to Auckland 16-day Christmas cruise costs $9,350 per person (all beverages, butler service and caviar are included in price).
She last visited Freo in 2020.

Ovation of the Seas
This week passengers on board Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas on a 10-day cruise from Sydney to New Zealand were disappointed. The cruise was forced to turn around and return to Sydney after a passenger suffered a medical event. It returned to sea – skipping the Dunedin stop scheduled for November 27, to stay on schedule – heading straight for Wellington. But on arrival there, it was too windy to berth and the ship headed back out to sea. Things happen!
Taylor Swift themed Cruise, USA
Next October, 2024, Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas has launched a Swift-themed-four-night Bahamian cruise. The cruise leaves Miami the day after the singer’s last Eras Tour show in the city. Taylor Swift will not be on board.
Zero Carbon Cruising
Ponant, a French cruising company, are paving the way towards zero carbon cruising. Ponant has committed to a uniquely designed transoceanic ship, supporting the evolution towards carbon neutrality and responsible tourism.
The ship, Swap2Zero will combine renewable energy provided by wind and sun, fuel cells and carbon capture devices.
