Sami Zouad to help deliver Freo Ports 2027 Strategic Plan

Fremantle Ports has today announced the appointment of new General Manager, Sami Zouad.

Mr Zouad, as General Manager, Strategy Planning and Performance, is expected to play a critical role in Fremantle Ports’ growth and transformation, particularly the delivery of its ambitious 2027 Strategic Plan and linked performance targets over the next five years.

Mr Michael Parker, Fremantle Ports’ CEO noted that the organisation’s areas of focus include transforming safety performance, delivering sustainable operational results including achieving net zero for scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2027, driving shipping efficiency and reliability, increasing asset capacity to facilitate trade, and improving customer satisfaction.

Mt Parker added: “Fremantle Ports now has a very strong and diverse team at both management and executive management levels, which puts us in a great position to deliver on our commitments over the next five years”.

Mr Zouad brings extensive experience across consulting, executive management, strategy formulation and implementation to his new role at Fremantle Ports. He joins Fremantle Ports from Jemena, a privately owned energy infrastructure company with over $11 billion of assets across Australia, where he held the position of General Manager, Business Development Western Australia for the past three years. In this role, he worked with their Board and Executive on their growth agenda, from defining their growth strategy to developing a portfolio of renewable energy projects across Australia.

Prior to this role, he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Commercial Services at Horizon Power and Manager Strategy and Innovation at Synergy, leading both organisations’ new strategy development and implementation.

Mr Zouad started his career with Bain & Company in Paris, consulting across media, mining and oil & gas industries and helped establish their Perth office in 2011.

His credentials include an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York, and a Masters in Engineering (Optics and Physics) from the Institut d’Optique Graduate School in France.
