Doesn’t seem like so long ago when they were ‘nourishing’ Port Beach to save it and the adjacent restaurant from swimming off into the Indian Ocean.
In fact it was just last August.
Well these last couple days and nights have been a good test for all that work.
Our Places I Love columnist Jean Hudson has been keeping a weather eye on things.

Jean reports that –
‘Sea wall holding at Port Beach after 2 days winds over 100kph. All beach paths and beach access cordoned off. One daring swimmer braving the waves and ignoring the warning signs.’
So, seems to be holding up, so far.
