Have you heard about Mr Perfect? No?
Well, Mr Perfect is a grassroots charity that runs park BBQs for men across the country to reduce isolation and create community and connection – a mental health initiative.
Mr Perfect is having its inaugural Fremantle BBQ on the 29th November 2020 from 10:30am at South Beach Park in South Fremantle.
Sean Hefferon is a South Freo local and will be the BBQ Host for this location.
When Sean heard about Mr Perfect he knew it was ideal for the area: “A lot of men are doing it tough right now especially with the effects of COVID on job loss, family stress and so on. A regular informal BBQ where men can meet and just chat in a safe environment can only benefit our local community”.
Sydney-based Mr Perfect Founder, Terry Cornick is ecstatic that the charity finally has a presence in Fremantle as they add to the 35+ BBQs nationally:
“Fremantle has been on our target list for a BBQ site for a long, long time. As we have grown we noted Fremantle was in need of more social support for men so they have a soft-entry to mental health support and a place to be themselves. The informal South Beach BBQs will help provide that social support”.
Mr Perfect holds monthly BBQs across the country that provide a space for men to get
outside for a couple of hours, enjoy some company, a good feed and get a healthy dose of
connection and community.
