Coronavirus causes cruise ship overflow at Fremantle

Crazy but interesting times for Fremantle ship-spotters serious and occasional.

Fremantle is set to become something of a backup port in coming days for a number of cruise ships whose expected voyages in South East Asia have been cancelled due to the uncertain spread of the Coronavirus throughout the world but in the Asian region.

Cunard has announced, for example, that Queen Mary 2 – QM2 – will arrive tomorrow, Tuesday, from Singapore. New cruise options ex-Australia are soon to be announced.
P&O’s Arcadia, Star Cruises’ Explorer Dream and Costa Cruises’ Costa Deliziosa are other ships soon expected to berth here.
We will bring you news of their arrivals here at the Shipping News.
Here’s our snap of the QM2 from her last, scheduled visit to Fremantle.
