Sheep Ships Shoot Off

The live sheep trade is live again after a hiatus. Freo is the local Australian port of departure.

Here are our shots of the Al Messilah and the Brahman Express (partly obscured by the Vacamonte tanker/refueller) livestock carriers in port this morning.

SBS News reports that, after a temporary ban during the northern hemisphere summer, a vessel carrying 57,000 live sheep will leave Australia for the Middle East on Monday.  The sheep are bound for Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Read the SBS story here.
