Here’s our report on the Big Freo Spring Clean organised by the Good Fund Freo.
Sarah Booth from Good Fund Freo tells us that the big spring clean went so well – and that the common thread between the participants afterwards was how good it felt to participate in doing something positive for the Freo centre!
Here’s a great gallery of pics taken by Adam Kenna on the day, last Saturday morning, that give you the feel.

About 100 people showed up and did everything from picking up rubbish and weeding, to cleaning the shop windows left dirty by absent owners. And the punters were also pleased to have among them none other than current Mayor Ben Lawver (on the right in this super snap by Freo View’s Roel Loopers) and former Mayor Brad Pettitt.

The Hungry Jacks site was a particular focus for the morning, and the Clean Up really has it looking great – as the further gallery of pics by Adam Kenna graphically illustrates.

Sarah Booth says that ‘all in all, it was such a positive, joyful morning showing our town some love’.
She adds that Good Fund Freo folk hope to make the spring clean an annual thing, but also for smaller cleans to become a regular thing too – ‘A nice habit to get into’, she suggests.
Congrats to all the participants and the organisers for making this happen. Nice work, folks!
