What a day yesterday was for the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony. Sun shining. Happy people. Lucky boats. And FSN’s Jean Hudson was there to catch all the action. Here are the galleries of what passed by her camera!
Yesterday was a big day. When we say big day, we mean BIG DAY, HUGE!
The procession commenced from St Patrick’s Basilica on Adelaide Street at 2pm and soon enough proceeded down High Street. Hundreds of people lined the streets.

A lot of action was in High Street.

Then it was on to Fishing Boat Harbour, where there was a complete party atmosphere.

And lots of folk, tall and small, furry and red!

Then to the boats. Which, once blessed in the presence of the Madonna, were packed to capacity and sent off to do laps of Fishing Boat Harbour. Fabulous atmosphere (but sadly no Eddie to watch proceedings 😞).

And here’s the one who watched over the whole event and Blessed the Fleet – Madonna.
