Fremantle Shipping News is pleased to bring you The Wednesday Poem.
In this feature we post poems by Freo and Freo-connected poets and those who may not call themselves poets but love writing poetry or having a go!
Today, we are pleased to bring you Silent Anthem by David Menashe.

David Menashe has a background in classical music performance – but has treasured the ‘cold fire’ of good poetry since his early teens. Silent Anthem is his first poem, written in his late 50s after seeing the full glorious sweep of the Southern Cross through binoculars. David hopes to continue his poetic quest, with its rigours of condensing the human experience through charged verse.
