A few snaps of the Fremantle Interational Street Arts Festival

Something for everyone this April with ample energy in the air and on the ground!

Imagicario Wonderous Giant Puppets

For those travelling elsewhere this Easter or resting, we loved pretty much everything we saw but can confidently point you in the direction of a few highlight performers in the future to keep an eye out for in Perth or overseas at Fringe Festival:

  • Amor – combining the delights of Argentinian tango with pyrotechnics
  • Reuben Dot Dot Dot – an ex-Cirque du Soleil performer who continues to soar new heights
  • Haribow – Japanese athletic band of five whose rise to fame featured in Britain’s Got Talent
  • Otto & Astrid – Germanic rock comedy duo and veterans of Edinburgh Fringe Festival (meow)

Otto & Astrid (above) sent off the daytime finale for the weekend and what a show it was. Those two entertained us thoroughly outside the National Hotel with their dynamism and versatility. And risque lyrics that have stuck in my head for three consecutive days.

The opening and closing act, and arguably the crowd favourite for its sheer flashiness, has to be Amor.

My oh my. We could feel the heat from our seats.

When love loses its spark, when the flames of passion fizzle out, do you accept it or go to absurd lengths to reignite it?

Beauty meets life-threatening meets hilarity.

And here’s a few more snaps of the sights we saw out and about. Some weirder than others.
