Everyone knows, pretty much, that the Old Freo Traffic Bridge is on the way out and a new one is on the way in.

KEEP AN EYE ON THESE ONGOING TRAFFIC CHANGES TOO

Speed reduced to 40km/hr.

Intermittent stop/slow traffic management during large deliveries and crane activity.

And also Canning Highway and Queen Victoria Street Intersection on the South Side

No right-turn from Canning Highway (heading west) onto Queen Victoria Street.

All other movements available over the Fremantle Traffic Bridge.

And Fremantle Traffic Bridge Shared Path: Swan Street to Canning Highway
Fremantle Traffic Bridge shared path closed for piling works from Monday to Saturday 7:30am to 5:30pm. Open outside these times.

Generally

You are requested to use signed detour via Stirling Highway.

Alternatively, take bus numbers 998, 999 and 107 to cross the bridge.

AND NOW FOR THE MOST ANNOYING CHANGE, IF YOUR ARE A PEDESTRIAN OR CYCLIST

Main Roads WA have advised us that, to provide a safe environment for workers and the wider community, the shared path on the Fremantle Traffic Bridge will permanently close to pedestrians and cyclists from January 2025 until project completion (end of 2026). This allows construction of abutment foundations and retaining walls to support the deck of the new bridge.

If you are a Pedestrian or a Cyclist you will be detoured via Stirling Highway. Signs will be placed at either end of the bridge (both sides) showing the detour route and bus movements.

We are also advised more information will be provided prior to implementation.
