A Hotel?

Proposal to convert use of the Navy Club building or parts of it to a ‘Hotel’ has been lodged with City of Fremantle

As folk around Freo would know, the Navy Club building at 64 High Street, Fremantle, or a part of it, has been up for sale for a while.

It now appears that that part, or perhaps all of it, is ‘Under Offer’.

While only the ground floor and first floor appeared on the original For Sale sign, Harcourt’s website information at the time suggested you might be able to acquire the second and third floors of the building as well, if you were interested.

And now we note a planning proposal has been lodged with City of Fremantle on Tuesday, 12 November to convert the use of 64 High Street to a ‘Hotel’.

Tres interesting.

Wonder what the inner city burghers will think about this idea?

If you’re wondering what the building was once upon a time, Garry Gillard’s Freotopia tells us the ‘two-storey building was built for the Bank of Adelaide in 1910’.

From a Jack to a King. From a Bank to a Hotel sort of thing.

Life goes on.
