As Main Roads have previously explained, Fremantle Traffic Bridge houses telecommunications, water and gas services that need to be removed and relocated in the process of dismantling the Old Bridge and constructing the new bridge.
Three new pipelines (one telecommunication and two water) will be installed under the riverbed to accommodate the new services.
Traffic changes are needed for service relocation works and to set up the area for construction of the temporary jetties.
