Another Double Cruise Ship Alert – Two more coming!

Fremantle Ports have hardly had time to draw breath this week. After having both Volendam and QM2 cruise ships in port together on Saturday, expect another two cruise ships hot on their tails.

The Azamara Journey, now a frequent visitor who was last here just before Christmas, , is arriving on Monday 19 February at 6.30am from Busselton and staying in port until Tuesday 20 February when she departs at 5pm.

This is a ‘turnaround ship’ with a total of 596 passengers disembarking on Tuesday and 622 new passengers embarking. A further 629 transit passengers, who will continue their cruises, and 399 crew are also on-board.

Her next port of call is Bali.

Then the Island Princess arrives from Melbourne and Adelaide on Wednesday 21 February at 6.30am and leaves the same day at 6pm with 1800 transit passenger and 892 crew, there are no new passengers embarking.

476 of her 1800 transit passengers are booked on tours, leaving up to 1324 passengers exploring Fremantle for the day.

This ship is one of the 17 ships in the Princess Cruise fleet.

Island Princess departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 1 January 2024 on a one way voyage intended to conclude with passage through the Suez Canal and going alongside in Civitavecchia-Rome. Like many cruise lines, hostilities in the Red Sea have out paid to those plans. We understand she will now find her way to the Mediterranean around the Cape after a stop in Mauritius.

Her next port of call after Freo is Benoa, Bali.

Later in February expect Coral Geographer and Brilliance of the Seas.
