Governing Freo-style – The Candidates

In our Governing Freo-style features over the past number of years we have posted a range of stories, including podcast interviews with City of Freo Mayors, elected Councillors and, during the Freo Council election periods, podcast interviews with candidates.

In this post we bring you details of who’s running in what Ward at the upcoming 21 October Freo Council elections.

We look forward to bringing you interviews with the candidates in the lead up to the elections, as well as our reports on the results on the big day.

So folks, here’s who’s running in each of our new four wards at the 21 October 2023 Freo Council elections.

There is only one candidate to be elected in each ward, so it’s going to be an interesting election, especially with ‘optional preferential voting’ in play and not just ‘first past the post’.

If you’d like to read more about them and their platforms, look here.

We look forward to bringing you more podcast interviews with the candidates over the next few weeks.

Here are our recent interviews with Jemima Williamson-Wong in Coastal Ward and Ingrid van Dorssen in North Ward.
