Welcome back to our politics podcast, View From The Round House With Martin Drum.
In this podcast, the Shipping News’ editor, Michael Barker discusses with the Prof the recently released report of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Matters of the Commonwealth Parliament that deals with the thorny but important issue of Money in Politics. The Committee’s report contains recommendations to lower the threshold for disclosure of political donations to $1000, for real time reporting of donations, and recommends caps on how much can be donated and how much can be spent in elections, as well as measures to secure truth in political advertising.
Martin Drum is the Executive Dean for the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Business and Law and Professor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Notre Dame Australia, a frequenter of Fremantle, and a well know political pundit.
