This, Dominic Perissinotto’s first solo performance in the 2018 series will be a tribute to the history of the concert series.

The programme includes music by Handel (Concerto in B Flat), Bach (Toccata and Fugue in D minor), Mozart and the famous Charles Ives piece Variations on America.

“I have chosen pieces that were audience favourites and I have also included pieces that are very well known organ pieces which allow me to pull out all the stops on the grand organ,” Dominic said.

“The Ives piece, Variations on America, is wickedly fun piece which shows the extremes of the organ from the gentlest of sounds to the blazing pedal writing for the feet and a lot of stops!

“Equally as showy is the Bach piece – it’s a famous piece notable for its rhythmic drive as well as its arresting opening motif. It is considered the epitome of scary music and is often associated as the dramatic silent movie sound track and is easily recognisable.”
