Wilson Park is opposite South Beach proper at the southern end of South Terrace near the Douro Road roundabout. It is a bigger park than the Community parks, not really designed for kids or picnicking, but good for those joggers not fit enough to run on sandy South Beach. The park regularly serves as an overflow parking area for main South Beach, which has been a popular holiday and swimming destination for a hundred years and more. The grassed areas in front of South Beach, and also to the north alongside the cycle/pedestrian path, are the preferred picnic spots when visiting the beaches. Wilson Park and South Beach picnic areas can be accessed from either Blue Cat stops 10 or 11, although stop 11 give more direct access to South Beach.
