Totally Lit is up and running – Book now!

The Totally Lit festival was launched last night at the iconic Victoria Hall, High Street, Freo to great acclaim. Sharon Flindell, the Curator/Producer of the Totally Lit festival, explains that for the next two weeks Walyalup Fremantle will be totally lit with events, conversations and immersive experiences that prove stories, writing and ideas belong to everyone, everywhere, all at once. So, BOOK NOW for an event that takes your fancy!

Totally Lit puts a different spin on the standard writers’ festival model, bringing events out from the darkness of auditoriums and into the light of streets, bars, galleries and other places where people live. So, consider yourself invited!

So many options: gather your posse to follow the clues throughout Fremantle and solve the murder of a famous author; give the young readers in your life their own private story time experience on the Fremantle Wheel; chat with festival favourites Jane Caro and Gillian O’Shaughnessy over a 3-course lunch at Anglesea; discover the original stories illuminating the Fremantle Ports Building; indulge in a Novel Tea with Amanda Curtin and Freo’s own Chrissie Maus; or join us at Fremantle Prison for some conversations about crime fact and crime fiction that really will give you food for thought!

It may be an old chestnut, but it’s also true – Totally Lit really does have something for everyone.

For me personally, some of the very best moments of last year’s inaugural Totally Lit were the conversations with people who shared their own variations on this statement: I’ve never been to anything like this before but I’m really glad I came tonight.’

If you’ve not been a ‘writers’ festival person’ in the past, perhaps now is the time to become one?

PS Lots of events are already fully booked but there’s still plenty of others available.

See you there!

Here’s the Full Program.
