Now these two events sound like fun! First, a guided bike ride over Stirling Bridge this Sunday. Then a Glow ride on 2 May in North Freo.
This Sunday afternoon, 12 April 2026 from 2-4 pm, why not join in what’s advertised as ‘a scenic, guided bike ride across Stirling Bridge’?

The ride, which is promoted by the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI), is designed to improve bike riding skills and confidence to navigate from Fremantle to North Fremantle while the Old Fremantle Traffic Bridge is closed.
DTMI say it’s also an opportunity to hear stories about the history of Fremantle along the way.
Then on Saturday 2 May, DTMI are planning a glow ride along the North Fremantle Heritage Trail. Starting at sunset, families can dress up their bicycles with glow sticks before a fun and
gentle-paced ride that will light up the landscape.

Now here’s the good news, participants will receive a food voucher to use after the Glow ride, and can enjoy face painting, music and other fun activities.
DTMI Director Active Transport Michelle Prior says having community events helps to increase riding confidence in a fun, supported way.
“It’s important to offer these activities for the Fremantle community, during a time of traffic
disruption.
“These experiences aim to boost people’s riding skills and confidence, help them navigate the local area and connect with their surroundings and community, in a new and different way.”
These events are part of DTMI’s efforts to encourage people to consider more active ways to travel around the area, particularly while the Old Freo Traffic Bridge is closed.
Here’s where to register for each. This Sunday’ rode starts out at the Ferris Wheel on Esplanade Park in Freo. The Glow ride will start from Gilbert Fraser Oval in North Freo.
