The Freo local government elections will soon be upon us in October, and already there is movement at the station with some folk beginning to be mentioned as possible candidates for elected office while others have been positively advancing their interest in being elected to Fremantle Council.
There are five elected positions up for grabs: the Mayor and one councillor for each of the four wards that now make up the City. It should be an interesting election period, unless of course Freo folk are already vote-weary after this year’s State and Federal elections!

Fremantle Shipping News will be pleased to cover the candidates as they emerge, including current Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge who has just announced she will seek re-election as Mayor.
Hannah Fitzhardinge was elected Mayor in 2021, 4 years ago. She says she is running again as there is ‘still more to do’.
