To the Joint Select Committee on the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Voice Referendum.

Dear Committee Secretary,

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament and the Australian Indigenous Journey of Health and Wellbeing

This referendum is about two issues. As simple as that: 1. Recognition, 2. Consultation.

Please, give 11 minutes of your time to watch this video Indigenous Journey of Health and Wellbeing issued for all WA health workers to better understand Indigenous Cultural Competency.

There is no better 11 minutes spent to convince the good and righteous of Australia to vote ‘YES’.

A journey to re-address 250 years of Constitutional disrespect, starts with a single step of change – vote ‘YES’’. Give the Indigenous First Nations People of Australia the right of Constitutional recognition and a Voice – vote ‘YES’.

What better gift from the 97% of non-Indigenous Australian electorate could be better received and achieve reconciliation than with the 3% of Indigenous Australian via one simple word? – vote ‘YES’.

Please, don’t allow a no vote to cause further disrespect by disallowing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander a voice on issues that relate to them. This would be so damaging. A further slap in their face and to their pride. Disrespectful in every way to Indigenous culture.

We all need to be proud Australians and, together, be proud of the millennia of Australian history. Not just the past 250 years.
