Recently, we posted the details of East Kimberley-based artist Jackie Ellis’ Joy and Light Exhibition that runs at Kidogo Arthouse on Bathers Beach from 8 – 19 February 2023.
Jackie kindly agreed to sit down with our editor, Michael Barker, to make the podcast below about her life to date.
Jackie has a wonderful story to tell. Born in Kenya to Kiwi parents. Schooled in New Zealand. Gained a law degree on her way to becoming a policewoman and prosecutor. Time spent in Adelaide polishing her artistic skills. Then a full time artist living on a houseboat on Lake Kununurra, in god’s own country in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Jackie’s journey to becoming a full time artist and her discussion on being an artist are fascinating and you really won’t want to miss a word of the podcast.
