Now, if you must leave fabulous Freo on Father’s Day this Sunday, and miss all the Dad’s Day delights on offer here – and there are plenty, – then perhaps you’ll find your way to the Perth Zoo in South Perth, which is celebrating Father’s Day this Sunday by offering free entry for all dads.
The zoo will provide free admission for all dads to encourage families to have a ‘wild day’ out together.
Visitors can say hello to the many animal dads calling Perth Zoo home, including Armani the giraffe – whose two latest calves are approaching their first birthday – and Memphis the Southern White Rhino, who lives next door to his son Bakari.
Any fathers coming in on Sunday can enter via the main gates and the ticket price will be waived.
Perth Zoo is open every day 9am to 5pm.
Environment Minister Reece Whitby is quite upbeat about this offering, observing –
“A visit to Perth Zoo is a family tradition, which is why we’re giving dads free entry on Father’s Day.
“I’d encourage families to pop into Perth Zoo, a magical urban wilderness, and make some magical memories together.
“With heaps of free zookeeper talks, food trucks, free barbecues, opportunities for guided tours and animal encounters – it’s a great day out for the whole family.
Keep an eye out for the Minister if you make it!
