Well, the third Fremantle Biennale, Crossings, has come and gone. And what an extravaganza it was.
People are still talking about Moombaki, not to mention Vespers and that crazy Commonwealth of New Bayswater thing, amongst so many others.
And this year the Biennale found its way to fabulous settings in Attadale and East Fremantle on the river and Cockburn on the Coogee shore.
If you’re feeling a bit spaced out after all the excitement, then imagine how the performers and especially the creatives behind the festival extravaganza must feel just now. Exhausted would probably be a good guess. And pleased.
To find out more about just what goes into creating a Biennale and what the future may hold for the next one, our editor, Michael Barker, caught up with Tom Muller, artistic director, and Katherine Wilkinson, program director who kindly shared their thoughts in this podcast interview.
