Fremantle Council Calls For Pause On Bridge

Last night, 23 September 2020, the Council of the City of Fremantle unanimously resolved that –
“Council supports the community calls for a pause in the current Main Roads WA design and procurement process to enable a proper and meaningful community engagement process on a range of options for the Swan River Crossings Project by State Government.”

As the Shipping News has regularly reported, the community has not expressed opposition to the building of a new traffic bridge across the River, but is anxious to see the construction of a bridge that meets not only present but future community and regional planning requirements.

The Better Bridge Papers, published by the Shipping News, address many of the issues.
