‘Biophilic’. An adjective. As in ‘biophilic city’. Professor Tim Beatley, a professor at the University of Virginia, was in Freo recently – loving the general craziness of South Freo – and kindly spoke to FSN about green cities, sustainability, and just what a biophilic city is or might look like. Is Freo such a city? His latest book, one of more than 15 he has written on sustainable urbanism, is titled Blue Urbanism, and, tantalizingly for a Freo resident, explores the links between the sea and the city. Tim‘s is a take not to be missed. He gets you thinking about the possibilities. Listen as you water your pot plants.
