One Last Time!

Freo Today. 1 February 2026. After all the talking, all the warnings, all the letter drops, articles and posts, not to mention all the planning, the Old Fremantle Traffic Bridge officially closed to traffic today. This morning, to honour the occasion, an assembly of well wishers and Bridge tragics, including a lady who was born on the Bridge all those years ago, led by Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti, who is also the State’s Treasurer, Minister for Transport and Minister for Sport and Recreation, and Fremantle MLA Simone McGurk, took the last buses across the Old Bridge to Freo.
