Greg Taylor
And on Saturday night, he was announced as the winner of the prestigious City of Fremantle 35th Hungerford Award for his unpublished manuscript, Wildlife in the Open Eucalyptus Forests. As a result of which Greg receives a cash prize of $15,000, a publishing contract with Fremantle Press, and a Centre for Stories fellowship.
His work has been written from the viewpoint of 24 species – none of which are human. In short, it’s a collection of narrative non-fiction essays that invite the reader to see the world from a different perspective – nature’s.
Our Editor, Michael Barker, couldn’t wait to meet Greg Taylor to make the podcast you’ll find below, and discover more about the book, where it came from, and just how Greg imagined it all.
