A Freo Love Story From Pemberton

This week we received this lovely email and photograph from Sabrina King of Pemberton, for whom Freo is also a special place.

Dear FSN Team,

I’d love to share a photograph I captured of Fremantle Harbour at sunset.

Although I live a few hours away, Fremantle has become a place I return to whenever I need to slow down and reconnect. There is something about its streets, its history and its harbour that always draws me back.

On this particular evening, I was driving through Fremantle with my teenage daughter when I suddenly saw this view. I remember saying, “We have to stop for a minute.” She thought I was a little crazy as we pulled over and wandered out to the centre median so I could take the photograph. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that if I didn’t stop, I’d miss something special.

When we looked at the photo afterwards, we both knew it had been worth it. Even now she still laughs about her mum making an unexpected stop just to chase a photograph. For me, it’s become more than just an image of Fremantle. It’s a reminder to always stop when you see beauty, because those moments don’t wait for us.

I simply wanted to share this image with people who work so hard to celebrate everything that makes Fremantle such a special place.

Thank you for everything you do to showcase such a unique and beautiful city.
