Jean Hudson is having a busy morning at the Port as the second cruise ship of the day slips into Freo!
This morning, I joined men with long lens, fisherfolk, cyclists and couples (it’s Valentines Day, after all), on North Mole to watch Silver Moon glide into Fremantle Harbour. She arrived at 7.15am, hot on the heels of Arcadia’s transom. This marks the arrival of two luxury vessels in under two hours.

Silver Moon was last in Freo in November just gone.
Silver Moon is a floating luxury five-star cruise ship, described as a ‘Small Ship with Big Personality’. Her last port of call was Busselton. Part of a 10 days, one-way from Melbourne to Fremantle cruise. Passengers can join for short or longer voyages.

406 transit passengers arrived in Fremantle, they are staying onboard for the next leg; 142 will disembark, and 147 new passengers will board. There are 424 crew.
Launched in 2021 for Silversea Cruises, Silver Moon is a Muse-class ship that doesn’t have cabins – she has suites; and can carry up to 691 passengers and 411 crew. Fewer guests mean more space, more service, and more staff to pander to your every need. Each suite has its own butler.
Unlike mega-liners as large as apartment blocks, Silver Moon keeps things intimate – so there are no ‘Belly-Flop’ competitions or people dancing to thumping music, just quiet lounges and soft lighting.

She homeports in Vancouver, Canada; Seward, Alaska; and Tokyo, Japan and Sydney.
Silver Moon will remain in port overnight before slipping away tomorrow, Sunday 15 February at 12.30 pm for a 9-night voyage to Singapore.

She really is a beautiful ship. Pop on down to Fremantle to watch she leave tomorrow. Victoria Quay or South Mole are always good places to wave from!
