Edge of the Wedge Now Open

Don’t miss the Edge of the Wedge ceramics exhibition on now at Old Customs House, Fremantle. It’s a big deal and is presented alongside the Australian Ceramics Triennale.

The exhibition includes ceramics by more than 100 artists from Australia, India, Canada, Ireland, Belgium, Brazil and beyond. Highlights include the International Academy of Ceramics founded in 1952, The Indian Ceramic Art Foundation promoting Indian ceramics globally and a showcase of works from Warrandyte Pottery Expo that celebrates a 25 year anniversary. 

Edge of the Wedge provides an outstanding display of ceramic talent and technique with a huge diversity of works, and a premier attraction on the Australian Ceramics Triennale Program.

Artists include national and international conference presenters/demonstrators such as Jane Annois, Ian Clare, Kate Dourough, Karin Amdal, Steven Low Thai Kwang, Jane Jermyn, Minna Graham, Gabriela Mello, Avi Amesbury, Falguni Bhatt, Kirsty Collins, Amelia Lynch, and Tagliari Bortolin.

The work of Western Australia artists and arts groups will also be represented in the exhibition, including that of Robyn Lees, Sandra Black, Greg Crowe, Stewart Scambler, Danica Wichtermann, Francesca Geromino, Pamela Chaves, Melissa Ellero, Canning Arts Group, Fleur Schell (and a group of ceramicists she has been nurturing across Australia), as well as regional artists such as woodfire legends Chester Nealie, Cher Shackleton and Margaret River artists, Ian Dowling, Georgia Zoric, Lauren Rudd and Camille Reid.

Old Customs House, managed by Artsource, is a magnificent two-storey building in Fremantle’s historic West End, housing multiple artists’ studios with a spacious central gallery lit by a glassed atrium. It’s the perfect place to show off ceramics!
