If you are wondering just where Port Klang is and how big a port it is, well, Port Klang is the principal port of Malaysia on the Strait of Malacca, just 6 kilometres southwest of the town of Klang, and 38 kilometres southwest of Kuala Lumpur. Just as Fremantle might be said to be the port to Perth, Port Klang might be said to be the port to KL. Known during colonial times as Port Swettenham, it was renamed Port Klang in July 1972.
