Did you hear that the Red Bull LEDGEnd Skateboarding Contest is on at the Cantonment St Wool Stores tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 1 pm and wrapping up around 6 pm?
Well, it is.
Get along, it’ll be a spectacular event.
Zach Tilghman of the Woolstores Forever Committee of WASA – the West Australian Skateboarding Association – tells us the contest is free to the public and open to all local skateboarders to participate in.
WASA has also flown out professional skateboarders from the east coast, including recent Olympian Chloe Covell, to participate and battle it out against our own.
The contest starts at 1pm, and will finish around 6pm, with the Finals of the contest being held around 4.30.
Red Bull is sponsoring the contest, while Human Urban, the owner of the Elders Woolstores which contains the famous Woolies skateboarding ledge, have sanctioned the event.
The City of Fremantle will close the street for the afternoon.
1300 people have expressed their interest in the event online.
So, come along and share in the fun and celebrate our skateboarding community’s relationship with the Wool Stores building.
