The mighty Toronto
Freo Today. 23 April 2026. Meet Toronto, a mighty 200m RO-RO – and she’s not from Canada! She is part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen fleet. WW is a Norwegian/Swedish company. Wilhelmsen’s side of the company has a famous rule – all their vessels’ names start with the letter T. Toronto joins others in the fleet with city names and others again with names drawn from Chinese and Japanese history and Nordic mythology. The other side of the company, Wallenius names vessels after operas: like Madame Butterfly and Carmen. Toronto was on anchor in Gage Roads on Monday afternoon, when this fab pic was taken by Jean Hudson. Yesterday Toronto tied up in port. If you happened to see her you will have remarked just how BIG she is. Today she sets sail for Laem Chabang, Thailand.
