Team Blades of Oary
Freo Today. 5 November 2025. The things you encounter in Fremantle. More specifically, on South Mole. Eagle-eyed Shipee, John Hartley came across these four women rowers on South Mole yesterday afternoon. He quickly elicited they are training for a transatlantic, unsupported rowing challenge in December next year, and have just taken delivery of their boat. They are called Blades of Oary and you can learn more about them and the amazing challenge they have taken on, right here. In short, they are required to row this craft through 4,800 km of open sea, across the Atlantic from near Spain to North America, about 1.5 times the direct distance from Freo to Sydney! From L-R Team Blades of Oary are: Chelsea Tanner, Cassie Gaff, Laura Lilly, Micah Manger. If you’d like to be put in touch with them to discuss becoming one of their sponsors on the World’s Toughest Row, don’t hesitate to email our Editor.
