Freo Today. 12 February 2026. The Piazza. Once a much loved commercial precinct in central Freo. Then quite unloved for quite a while. Now becoming quite loved again just in time for Valentine’s Day this Saturday. First we noticed that IDEAcademy, an alternative school for high school students, had just popped up in The Piazza. Then we heard the fountain, a great meeting point, is fountaining again. And just to prove it, Ros de Souza sent in this lovely pic of a passerby and her pup enjoying the sounds of gurgling water.
