Saving Woolies, image by image

Freo Today. 16 May 2024. As the future of the Old 1927 Woolstores is being actively reimagined by its new owners, the campaign to save the famed Woolies skateboarding rink on its Cantonmnet Street frontage has also picked up pace. The building has just received a facelift with snappy black and white images of many old and newer Woolies skateboarders, taken by well known Freo photographer Duncan Wright (pictured), now adorning its Cantonment Street frontage. They include images of Harry Clark, Alex Campbell, James Whineray, Salma Lahmini, Karmen Lee and Ben Bowering amongst many others. Call by soon and see Dunc’s work, image by image, for yourself.
