Nothing like Cold Nipping!

Freo Today. 8 January 2025. If you happened to take your ride, walk and dip at South Beach, South Fremantle, a little earlier this morning than you usually do, you will have come across this scene. Often there are yoga classes going on a little later in the mornings. But what was this crowd up to? Closer inspection suggested there were lots of Islas and Amelias and Charlottes and Olivers and Noahs and Leos with the occasional Lilys and Lucas interspersed among them and all their friends making up this interesting bunch. Eventually, after they completed stretching exercises there was something approaching a group hug – and then at 6 am sharp, a dash to the beach for a Cold Nip. What a great way to start 2025. Turns out it was the wonderful Cold Nips folk who get together each month at a different beach for their Cold Nip. Meeting people and being immersed in cold water is of course a good way to improve one’s mental health. We first came across Cold Nips at Bathers Beach, Freo, this time of the year, 2 years ago. Great to see the event is as popular as ever. Nothing like Cold Nipping!
