MSC Davao III in from Jakarta off to Adelaide

Freo Today. 12 July 2023. Yesterday, just after Maersk Gairloch departed Fremantle MSC Davao III arrived. She’s a container ship built in 2002 and currently sailing under the flag of Panama. So where does the name ‘Davao’ come from? We think it’s in honour of Davao City, a highly urbanised city in the Davao Region of the Philippines. The city has a total land area of 2,443.61 km², making it the largest city in the Philippines in terms of land area. The number 1 tourist attraction in Davao, by the way, is The Philippine Eagle Centre, an 8.4-hectare area located at the foothills of nearby Mt Apo.
